Stroboscopic Photos 2 |
This stroboscopic photo might be a good place to start if you have not seen stroboscopic photos before. looks more like a conventional photo than most of my others, being just three exposures on one frame, with each one being relatively clear. This gives it the strangely tranquil quality of a figure floating in space. Although the sweep of the movement is visible, the overall effect is somehow static. This is in contrast to most of my other images where a larger number of exposures on the one frame emphasise the shape of the movement rather than that of the figure, making the overall effect dynamic, in some cases powerfully so, as you will see if you look through these pages. Being aware of these effects, I am currently busy combining static, dynamic and very dynamic or explosive images of different movements to see how they work together visually in groups. Some of these images will be on show at Hastings Art Forum over Easter. |
